Jefferson County Fire Department protects approx. 500 square miles, with a population of over 16,000. Under the current leadership of Fire Chief Jim Anderson, Jefferson County Fire Services has consolidated two stand-a-lone fire departments which previously provided services to the county into one county department under the umbrella of Emergency Services
Whether it's fighting a fire, investigating its cause, administering emergency medical care, or teaching fire and life safety education, everyone at Jefferson County Fire Department works diligently to serve the residents of Jefferson County.
Fire Districts
Jefferson County Fire Department currently has two fire districts which are comprised of volunteers from within the communities they serve.
These districts are designated as Hillcrest District and Matthews District and the members work diligently to serve the citizens of not only their district but the entire county.
