The primary goal of the Building/Inspection Department is to protect the health, safety, and the well- being of the citizens by ensuring a safe building environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
Our Department enforces the International Building Codes as prescribed by the International Code Council which has been mandated and amended by the State of Georgia.

Our office issues permits that is required to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure. This includes, but is not limited to accessory buildings, signs, pools, towers, manufactured homes, industrialized buildings, foundations, slabs, driveways, patios and other types of miscellaneous repairs.

Our Department also enforces Erosion and Sediment Controls in the county.
