Eugene Cunningham has served as the director for the Jefferson County Recreation Department for Jefferson County since 1999. Prior to his appointment as the director, Eugene served in several roles including park operations and coaching. He has been in the recreation and parks field for more than 25 years.

He and his wife, Florence, have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. They reside in Louisville. Gene really enjoys working with the youth of our county.
